If you’re new to the process of selling your home, then you’ve probably noticed that it’s incredibly complicated. There are a number of balls to keep in the air, and there are more than a few things that you need to keep your eyes on.
When you’re unprepared for the home-selling process, you can make mistakes. In order to help you to ensure that your home-selling process goes as well as it should, we thought we’d share some common mistakes that you should avoid:
- Aiming Too High: We get it. You want to get as much money out of your home’s sale as possible. However, it’s important to take emotion out of the equation when you’re setting the price. You need to look at comparable properties in your neighborhood, and then gauge what a fair value is for your home. Also, you should consider how long houses have been sitting on the market and how quickly you’d like to sell. If the need is urgent, then perhaps you should go lower than you might like to.
- Selling As Is: You’ve been living in your house for a long time, and it’s started to show some wear and tear. That’s just a fact. Before you go about the process of selling your home, you should absolutely spend time fixing things that are broken. If there are small problems in your home, say worn out carpets or outdated cabinets, then those can seriously affect your bottom line once you sell.
- Selling Yourself: Even if you have a strong business and sales background, it’s not a good idea to go about the process of selling your house alone. Realtors, like the ones employed by We Say Sold, have experience that you lack, and they know how to close interested homebuyers. If you’re serious about selling your home, then you need a realtor!
There are other mistakes you could make, which we will be exploring in a later post, but you can avoid that last one easily. Here at We Say Sold, we specialize in selling houses and securing the greatest profit for our clients. If you’re serious about selling your home, and you want to go about it the right way, then take advantage of our expertise and our flat fee!
