If you’re thinking about moving to Rockledge, Florida, you won’t have a problem finding a home for sale. However, while the city is home to many attractive neighborhoods, it’s probably worth starting your search with the Barrington neighborhood, as this area has a lot to offer its residents.
The Barrington Neighborhood Limits
The Barrington neighborhood of Rockledge, Florida is located further west than most of the other neighborhoods in this city. While you’ll have longer to drive if you want to hang out on the beach at the Indian River, you’re still not very far. Furthermore, this extra distance means you’ll typically pay a lot less for your property than neighbors in Golfview or Estrdige.
This neighborhood gets its name because its southern perimeter is Barrington Circle. To the north, the perimeter is Barton Boulevard. The neighborhood is actually one block off that main drag, though, which is nice for those who appreciate a bit of quiet and extra privacy. The other three streets that run perpendicular to these two streets are Hudson, Drive, Plata Court and Hensley Drive. Barrington Circle, as the name suggests, encapsulates the entire neighborhood except for Barton Boulevard.
Demographics of the Barrington Neighborhood
One of the nice things about this area is that it’s quite small. Rockledge isn’t a huge city, but many of the other neighborhoods are much larger. As of this writing – August 2016 – there are just 303 residents in the Barrington neighborhood, so you should have no problem getting to know everybody.
The average age of your neighbors is 44 years old, which is relatively young for this part of town. 86% of them are homeowners too. As such, you can expect that they’ll remain your neighbors for years to come, as opposed to renters who may come and go. That owner rate is above average for Rockledge as many homes here are used as rental properties.
The Barrington Homeowners Association
One reason a lot of people love living in the Barrington neighborhood is because of their enthusiastic and dedicated homeowners association. The HoA here meets regularly and publishes their minutes online.
Amongst other things, they enforce certain rules that ensure the homes here always look beautiful. Aside from the fact that this is great for local pride, these standards also ensure that your property value will remain high. Despite the many advantages of this HOA, dues are just $50 a month.
New Homes in Barrington
Many of the homes in this neighborhood were built within the last 20 years, so if you like modern architecture and design, you’ll have no problem finding a home here that fits your tastes. There are a couple on the market right now from 2006, in fact.
Although there are plenty of neighborhoods in Rockledge to choose from, make sure you schedule some time to take a look at the homes here in the Barrington area. There’s a good chance you’ll find the perfect living situation right here.
