Melbourne, Florida is quickly becoming one of the most popular places to live in the entire state. If you’ve ever visited the city, you already know why. However, aside from its beautiful surroundings and friendly people, Melbourne also has a relatively low unemployment rate. On top of that, back in 2008, over 250 housing permits were issued, so there are plenty of new properties to consider as well. For those who would prefer living in luxury, you’ll want to consider the homes in the Town Center neighborhood. The best part is that Melbourne has some of the most affordable housing in the entire state, so even Town Center’s nicest houses are a bargain.
Real Estate Prices in the Town Center Neighborhood
The median price in August 2016 for a house in this area is $316,417. That amount is more than the average for 83.6% of neighborhoods in Florida and that of 76.5% in the U.S. However, it’s worth noting that you get a good-sized property for that much money, to say nothing of the location. Furthermore, the Melbourne-Titusville-Palm Bay area has always been a great place to buy a home for appreciation purposes.
Most homes here have three or four-bedrooms. There are also single-family homes with two rooms and mobile homes which have two bedrooms or just one. You also have apartments to consider.
While some homes here were built between 1940 and 1969, most were developed between 1970 and 1999. As we mentioned earlier, there are also a number of more modern homes that were built over the past decade.
Given its location, the most notable feature of life in Town Center is how close you are to the coast. If you love swimming in the ocean or lying out on the beach, this is a particularly great place to live. It’s definitely why so many families love Town Center: it doesn’t cost a dime for an entire day of family fun at the beach.
There is a fair amount of nautical history to take in here. The older homes also lend a historical feel to certain parts of the Town Center neighborhood.
A Safe Place to Live
Whether you’re raising a family, looking to retire or just want to live in an area where you can relax and not worry about your safety, you’ll find all of that here. The Town Center neighborhood has practically zero crime and a poverty rate that is among the bottom 0.1% in the entire country.
Though there’s plenty to do, you’ll find it’s very quiet and peaceful here. The rest of Melbourne also has plenty to offer and you’re just a quick drive from Palm Bay, Rockledge and Viera – all vibrant cities that aren’t lacking for fun activities to enjoy all throughout the week.
Though it would be tough to choose any one neighborhood in Melbourne to call the best, residents of the Town Center neighborhood would most likely have no problem nominating their own for this honor. If you’re moving to the area, it’s certainly worth checking out.
